Reporter Volume 26, No.24 April 13, 1995 Season tickets for the 1995 University at Buffalo football season are now on sale to UB faculty and staff. This year, Athletics is offering three season ticket packages, as well as a payroll deduction plan to pay for tickets. The V.I.P. Plan is $84 and includes free parking adjacent to UB Stadium and chairback seating at midfield; the Field Goal Plan is $60, or seven games for the price of six, a savings of 29 percent off the game-day ticket price; and the Baby Bull Plan is $30 for children ages 12 and under, a savings of 64 percent off the game-day ticket price. The action continues off the field, too, with promotions that include the human slingshot, the Fair Catch at the Half contest and fireworks at all night games. Coached by former Penn State assistant and UB alumnus Craig Cirbus, the Bulls will take on five members of the Yankee Conference and a pair of Patriot League members. A game against defending NCAA Division I-AA champion Youngstown State highlights UB's road games this season. The season opens at home on Sept. 2 when the Bulls will take on Patriot League member Fordham at 7 p.m. The Bulls defeated the Rams 33-14 in their last meeting in 1993. Patriot League champion Lafayette comes to town the following Saturday for a 1:30 p.m. game. The Leopards defeated the Bulls 29-15 at UB Stadium in 1993. The Bulls hit the road for the first time with a 1 p.m. game at Illinois State on Sept. 16. The Redbirds downed the Bulls 17-7 in their first meeting last season. Yankee Conference member Connecticut hosts UB at 7 p.m. Sept. 23. UConn is coached by Skip Holtz, son of Notre Dame head coach Lou Holtz. Homecoming at UB will be Saturday, Sept. 30 when the Bulls meet Villanova at 7 p.m. Maine's Black Bears make their second visit to UB Stadium on Oct. 7 at 7 p.m. The Bulls and Black Bears christened the new UB Stadium before a record crowd of 14,179 on Sept. 4, 1993, with Maine taking a last minute 30-27 victory. The Bulls returned the favor in Portland last season, downing the Black Bears 24-21. The Bulls will host Massachusetts on Oct. 14 at 1:30 p.m. The Minutemen have not met the Bulls since 1970. After an open week, the Bulls travel to Long Island to take on Hofstra on Oct. 27 in what has become an exciting rivalry since the two teams first met in 1988. Hofstra defeated the Bulls 34-21 in last season's meeting at UB Stadium. NAIA Division I member Central State of Ohio meets the Bulls in a 7 p.m. game on Nov. 4. The Bulls' final road contest features defending Division I-AA Champion Youngstown State on Nov. 11 at 1 p.m. YSU downed UB 27-3 in last season's home finale Nov. 5 in a driving rainstorm. UB concludes its schedule with a Nov. 18 meeting with Boston University at 1:30 p.m. Their last meeting was in 1993 when Boston University took a wild 61-33 contest at Nickerson Field.
