February 2, 1995: Vol26n15: Career workshops to be offered for graduate students Seven career workshops to be given this semester, will aid graduate and Ph.D. students who are planning their job searches. The workshops, co-sponsored by the Graduate Student Association, Career Planning and Placement, a division of Student Affairs, and the Office of Teaching Effectiveness, will feature speakers from several areas, including banking, education, government, non-profits, computers and business. They will talk about the qualities employers in these fields are seeking in new recruits. Workshops on building teaching portfolios, the interviewing and hiring process for Ph.D.s, and building people skills will also be offered. All workshops are free, with seating on a first-come, first-served basis. The program includes: Feb. 2, Employment in the Banking Industry, 3:30-5 p.m., 145A Student Union.
