February 2, 1995: Vol26n15: Greiner names Thomas Headrick to Senior Counselor position By STEVE COX Reporter Staff Thomas E. Headrick, a professor and former dean of the law school, has been named to the position of Senior Counselor by President William E. Greiner. Though he expects to have a wide variety of projects to work on, Headrick says one of his assignments will be "to provide more interaction for President Greiner with the faculty and the institution. His responsibilities require a lot of his attention outside the university, but he is very conscious of not losing touch with the people here." Headrick, who has been at UB since 1976, began his new duties in the President's office a little over two weeks ago. Last fall, Headrick served as acting dean of the law school while Dean Barry Boyer was on sabbatical. Previously, he held the law school posts of dean, from 1976-1985, and associate dean for academic services, from 1992-1994. He will continue to teach a limited number of courses in the law school. Before coming to UB, Headrick was vice president for academic affairs at Lawrence University in Wisconsin and assistant dean of Stanford Law School. In 1993, he was named a Distinguished Service Professor by the SUNY Board of Trustees, the highest academic rank available in the state university system. Headrick received his undergraduate degree from Franklin and Marshall College in Lancaster, Pa., his law degree from Yale University and his doctorate in political science from Stanford University. Headrick was also a Fulbright Scholar at Oxford University from 1956-58.
