January 26, 1995: Vol26n14: BLACK HISTORY MONTH- Ture to lecture, jazz video set The Black Student Union will kick off its Black History Month celebrations with a lecture by Kwame Ture, formerly known as Stokely Carmichael. Author of Black Power and Stokely Speaks, Ture will speak at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 31 in Diefendorf 146. Admission is free to students with ID and $3 for the general public. Also as part of Black History Month, BSU and UUAB will sponsor the film "Jason's Lyric" at 9 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 1 in the Student Union Theatre. Admission is $2 for students with ID and $3.50 for the general public. The Educational Opportunity Center Black History Month Committee will present a video presentation and discussion, "Jazz Vocalists, Gospels and Spirituals" at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 1 in the Educational Opportunity Center library.
