Gordon McLeod Harris, chemistry professor

Services were held last month in Laguna Hills, Calif. for Gordon
McLeod Harris, a retired UB chemistry professor, who died Jan. 5 in a
nursing home after a long illness.
	Harris, who was born in Chungking, China where his father was
a missionary, lived in Australia and Canada before coming to UB in
1954 to join the UB Chemistry Department. He retired as Larkin
Professor of Chemistry after 30 years of service to the university.
	He is survived by his wife, Justyn, of California; a daughter,
Deborah, of Illinois; two sons, David of California and Matthew of
Ohio; a grandchild, and two step-grandchildren. Burial was in
California.
