NOTICES Scholarship established A scholarship fund for students of color has been established in memory of Denise J. Broughton, senior admissions counselor at the university, who was found murdered in her Bailey-Kensington area home on Jan. 31. Broughton, who joined UB's Office of Admissions in 1991, specializing in multicultural student recruitment, had been assistant director of student recruitment at the University at Dayton for four years following graduation from the university. Volunteer advocates provided support and crisis intervention to 426 victims and their families in nine area hospitals in 1992. The shattering impact of rape can be lessened if you are willing to take the time to get involved.
