How long have you worked at UB?

I have worked at UB for a little over two and a half years.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

What I enjoy most about my job is working with extremely talented individuals who bring expertise in all facets of marketing communications. It's great to collaborate with each other and share the amazing work of incredible UB students, faculty and staff on a global scale.

What's the most difficult part about your job?

Deciding which stories, from across the university, to focus on in our communications – there's so much to choose from!

Tell us something about your department that isn't well known.

Not everyone realizes that the staff within university communications comes from such varied professional backgrounds. We have former TV, newspaper and radio journalists, a high-profile magazine editor and others who bring experience from major food and toy retail brands, sports teams, marketing agencies and more. We also benefit from individuals who share their deep institutional knowledge within UB and previous experiences at other universities across the country.

If you were to share some advice for other professional staff, what would it be?

Meet as many people as you can – students, staff, faculty – everyone has a different perspective to share and wonderful stories to tell. It helps connect the work you do to why it matters.

Do you have any hobbies? What do you do for fun?

I enjoy walking my Norfolk Terrier, gardening and binge-watching new shows with my husband.

Any other fun facts about you?

My husband and I are big Christmas fanatics with many holiday traditions. We've been curating a large Santa collection, decorate two Christmas trees and throw a big festive holiday party each year for our friends. Less than 60 days to go!
