PSS to present humor seminar

Published November 25, 2020

COVID-19 is not a laughing matter, but we need to maintain a sense of humor now more than ever if we are to keep our perspective — and sanity — during these trying days.

Joel Goodman, founder of The HUMOR Project Inc., will help UB staff members learn about the positive, powerful, personal and professional benefits of humor during a Zoom event on Dec. 10.

The free event, “A Gift of Laughter: Adding Humor to Your Life and Work — A Conversation with Joel Goodman,” will begin at 11 a.m. It is sponsored by the Professional Staff Senate’s Staff Development and Engagement Committee. Those wishing to participate should register by Dec. 7. A Zoom meeting link will be sent out prior to the Dec. 10 event. Attendees should note that this is a live event; a recording will not be available.

Goodman is founder and director of The HUMOR Project, which bills itself as the first organization in the world to focus full-time (or fool-time) on the positive power of humor and creativity.

He has authored 10 books and edited a quarterly magazine, Laughing Matters. He also is the creator of the www.HumorProject.com website and publishes Laughing Matters e-zine, which has had more than 20,000 subscribers from the U.S. and around the world.

The first 250 people to register and attend the PSS' virtual event will receive a free mailed copy of Goodman’s book “Laffirmations: 1,001 Ways to Add Humor to Your Life and Work,” which is now in its 26th printing.
