The Graduate School of Education offers master's and
doctoral degrees, with study toward New York State teaching
certification in 21 fields. Opportunities include independent
study and supervised experiences.
The School of Nursing has the greatest breadth of academic
programming among nursing schools in New York State, offering
baccalaureate, certificate and master’s degree programs,
along with two doctorates.
UB’s Roswell Park Cancer Institute Graduate Division
offers five PhD programs and an MS program. They are designed
for individuals pursuing careers in cancer research or basic and
translational biomedical research.
The School of Engineering and Applied Sciences is the
largest and most comprehensive public school of engineering in New
York State, offering bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral
degrees in seven departments.
Highly ranked by publications including The Wall Street Journal,
the School of Management is recognized for its emphasis on
real-world learning, community and economic impact, and history of
Offering MSW and PhD degrees, the School of Social Work appears
among the top 20 percent of MSW programs nationally in the most
recent rankings from the Council on Social Work Education and U.S.
News and World Report.
The School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences is SUNY's
only pharmacy school. It has one of the world's top graduate
programs in pharmaceutical sciences, and a professional PharmD
program in the top quartile nationally.
Communities will address areas of human/social/global concern that require thought leadership and significant attention from multiple disciplines. The issues selected and/or approaches to solving them will be derived from and linked to UB themes of humanity, justice, environment, innovation and health.
Curricular distinction at UB will encompass a new general education program, experiential learning, interprofessional education, and significant international experiences. We will also explore an expansion of our Undergraduate Academies. The new general education program will be at the forefront of this initiative with focus on high impact practices and our UB 2020 themes – humanity, justice, environment, innovation, and health.
