Guidelines

Proposals will only be accepted from Deans representing academic units (support units will have access to funds through a separate mechanism). The number of proposals submitted by an individual unit will be limited, and based on the number of ladder faculty (see Table 1 below). Units are encouraged to participate in multi-unit submissions, but no more than five cross-unit proposals will be accepted from any one decanal unit.  Each multi-unit proposal will count 0.5 toward the total allowed for each unit participating irrespective of the number of units participating; e.g., a unit having 50 or fewer faculty could participate in four multi-unit proposals, or two multi-unit proposals and one single unit proposal, or two single unit proposals.  All proposals should meet the goals of the E-Fund and represent a high-priority and/or innovative initiative of the unit(s).
