New Faculty Join UB
School of Management Associate Professor Natalie C. Simpson provides faculty reflections during the University Welcome.
Joining the university this fall are 112 new full-time faculty members, 83 of whom are tenured or tenure-track. Among them is a member of the National Academy of Engineering; one of the world’s leading plant biologists; one of the country’s leading researchers on circadian rhythms and melatonin receptors; and one of the world’s prominent scholars of French literature, culture and poetics. At the University Welcome event on August 22, President Simpson described both returning and new faculty as scholars in their fields who “are making the conversation, are creating the knowledge” in support of UB’s goal of becoming one of the nation’s top research universities.
