Our Strategic Plan

The purpose of our strategic plan is meant to help us achieve the objectives for which the Office of Educational Effectiveness was created:

  • Institutional-Level Assessment of Student Learning
  • Streamining and Simplification of Assessment Activities and Assessment Reporting
  • Campus Leadership for Educational Assessment

2018-2019 Strategic Goals

Strategic Goal
Develop and implement a communication plan and begin to re-engage the campus community.
Establish the University Assessment Council to oversee educational assessment activities, refine institutional learning outcomes (ILOs), and develop a plan for assessing those outcomes.
Integrate Comprehensive Program Review (CPR) and Annual Program Assessment processes and reporting and reduce duplication of assessment efforts by identifying a platform that supports both reporting functions.
Review Scoring Services to identify continued improvements or a new platform.
Plan and deliver Assessment Day and grow assessment resources and supports for the campus community.

2019-2020 Strategic Goals

Strategic Goals
Expand the outreach capability of OEE by adding an additional staff member.
Grow assessment resources for campus by expanding web site materials and developing a full complement of in-person trainings and workshops.
Develop a process for identifying and showcasing UB exemplars of assessment practice.
With University Assessment Council, lead a curriculum mapping process using the new assessment management system to map Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs) to Institutional Learning Outcomes (ILOs).
Develop assessment dashboards to be shared with chairs and deans.
Identify relevant and timely Assessment Day speaker and plan and deliver Assessment Day.

2020-2021 Strategic Goals

Strategic Goals
Streamline the organizational structure of OEE by naming an associate director.
With the University Assessment Council, develop an assessment plan for ILOs and begin the data collection and compilation process.
Promote greater integration of assessment activities/results into existing university reviews, including in the resource planning process.
Begin to conduct deep statistical analysis of key target areas of concern or campus interest.
With the University Assessment Council, operationalize preparation for the 2024 Middle States Decennial Review.
Identify relevant and timely Assessment Day speaker and plan and deliver Assessment Day.
