UBMD steps up for Heart Walk

The finance committee of the new UBMD management council began meeting this summer.

The 2008 UBMD team numbered 111 members at this year’s American Heart Association Heart Walk, raising $9,749. The team placed fifth in total fundraising for the entire Western New York event, which brought in more than $400,000 in the fight against cardiovascular disease and stroke.

Led by Tak Nobumoto, UBA’s director of operations, the team had four fundraising units and respective captains: Family Medicine, Jennifer Aiello; Pediatrics, Sam Carlo and Kerri Blake; Surgery, Maureen Markus; and UBMD administration, Eva Hodge. Jennifer and Maureen were backed by several co-captains from various practice plan site locations. Way to go, Team UBMD!
