Internal Medicine welcomes COO, makes a move

University Pathology welcomed three new pathologists this fall. In October, Theodore C. Ondracek began working at Buffalo General Hospital. In November he was joined at Buffalo General by Janet M. Fleck, while Rafal Kozielski began work that month at Women and Children’s Hospital of Buffalo.

  Michael Kuettel, professor and chair of radiation oncology at Roswell Park Cancer Institute, has been named a fellow of the American College of Radiology based on “outstanding contributions and service.”

  Junzhe Xu, assistant professor of psychiatry, received the Annual Irma Bland Award for Excellence in Teaching Residents 2007-08 at the APA annual meeting held in May in Washington, D.C.

  Gurdev Singh, an internationally recognized expert on patient safety and the founding director of the UB Family Medicine Patient Safety Research Center in the Primary Care Research Institute, recently gave a presentation on safety improvement for primary care teams at the second annual conference of the P2 Collaborative of Western New York, a regional nonprofit organization working on improving public health.
