For UB Faculty

How we get the word out to UB

We communicate with the university community primarily through the Reporter, UB’s newspaper of record, which is published on Thursdays. Issues are distributed on campus and electronically, and announcements about the online Reporter, which often contains additional information not available in the paper version, is available via email.

News Services also communicates with internal and external audiences through its Web site. In addition to news releases and other information of interest to the university community, the Web site also contains a “UB in the News” section that provides summaries and links to articles about UB that have appeared in the national and regional press.

Our RSS feeds are available on eUB, MyUB and the Alumni site as well as many constituent sites.

We also bring the news right to your desktop through a customized weekly email newsletter featuring the latest news from UB in areas that interest you. Just fill out this quick and form to subscribe.

Our experienced and award-winning staff focuses on promoting and increasing the visibility of UB as one of the nation’s premier research-intensive public universities, the largest and most comprehensive campus in the State University of New York. We work with reporters from various media outlets—print, broadcast and Web—who distribute news locally, regionally, statewide, nationally and internationally.

And national attention isn’t our only emphasis. We also take seriously news about faculty, staff and students that we send to hometown daily and weekly newspapers.

We are more than happy to advise faculty members, staff and students on working with reporters and can help you prepare for interviews. We also are available to assist in the preparation and placement of Op-Ed articles. Go to When Media Call for more information.
