C-SPAN featured Erin Hatton, in an interview about COVID-19’s impact on the gig economy. As unemployment rates rapidly increase, gig work has both good and worrisome aspects. “There are lots of people out there who are hurting right now and need work because the stimulus package isn’t cutting it,” said Hatton. “So people may be looking at a job like Instacart delivery to make ends meet for now. Which may help. But it also puts them at risk for potentially catching the coronavirus.”
