Even Liberals can be refugee NIMBYs

An article in The Atlantic’s City Lab about a new study that finds that Americans are more likely to support refugee resettlement nationally than in their own locales interviews Rick Su, professor of law. The article notes that, by law, state and local governments can’t refuse to accept refugees altogether. But that doesn’t mean the president cannot find new, creative ways to heed the requests of refugee-averse local governments, he said.
