Sports Authority files for bankruptcy protection, will close 140 stores

An article in The Washington Post about the world’s largest sporting goods retailer, Sports Authority, which filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on Wednesday and said it would close 140 stores, quotes Charles Lindsey, associate professor of marketing in the UB School of Management. “They haven’t been in a good position competitively for a while,” he said. The article also appeared on KBET-TV in Las Vegas.
