New York opens marijuana clinics with emphasis on 'medical'

A Reuters article about the opening today of New York State’s first medical marijuana clinics quotes Edward Bednarczyk, chair of pharmacy practice in UB’s School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. “Really, what they're trying to do is close to legitimatize med marijuana,” he said, referring to the conservative approach taken by New York regulators, imposing tight controls over prescribing, dosing and other aspects of the program to allow for more reliable study of the efficacy of medical marijuana.
