Suicide a common killer of cops, but Fox Lake scandal no ordinary case

An article in the Chicago Tribune about a police officer who staged his own death to look like a homicide reports John Violanti, research professor of epidemiology and environmental health, has put the suicide rate for officers in 2012 at 16 per 100,000 people, higher than the overall U.S. suicide rate of 13 per 100,000 people.
