An article on CNBC about whether sports GIFs that go viral via social media are violating copyright infringement “fair use” laws quotes Nellie Drew, a UB sports law expert. “(Social media reach) was not anticipated with fair use,” she said. “The ability to widely disseminate these things is different from me showing you a picture I took from the game.”
