An article in The New York Times interviews Despina Stratigakos, interim chair of the Department of Architecture, about her new book, “Hitler at Home,” that recounts how Hitler’s inner circle worked throughout the 1930s to reinvent his image from a solitary oddball with few family ties to a statesman of fine taste and morals. The article notes that before the Nazi invasion of Poland, British and American newspapers and magazines published flattering features about the interiors of his homes. Stratigakos said that her study was meant “in large part to show how dangerous those stories were.” Articles also appeared in Slate (France), Sabah (Turkey), El Diario (Spain), Red Orbit and The Washington Times.
