An editorial in the Buffalo News about the importance of gifts from the John R. Oishei Foundation to the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus includes among the contributions a $5 million gift to the UB School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, which pushed UB nearly to the halfway mark in its private fundraising goals for the $375 million building. The article quotes Oishei Foundation leader Robert D. Gioia, who said, “The Oishei Foundation recognizes the new UB medical school as a game-changing addition to the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus. It will redefine our region as a hub for the very best in health care.” An article in Business First also looks at the gifts the Oishei Foundation has made to the BNMC.
