An article in Forbes profiles UB alumnus John Kapoor, who has joined the ranks of America’s wealthiest people after shares of INSYS Therapeutics, which makes drugs that provide support and therapy to cancer patients, soared this week. The article notes that Kapoor, who came to the U.S. from Amritsar, India, was the first member of his family to go to college, a dream that became attainable after he received a fellowship from the UB School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, and has given back more than $10 million to the university.
