An article in Scientific American reports on a new nanoparticle-based cancer therapy that UB researchers have found is effective in treating antibiotic-resistant gonorrhea in mice. The article quotes UB microbiologist and immunologist Michael Russell, who said the treatment can turn the infection into a “live vaccine,” allowing the body to develop immunity.
