PBS's NOVA turns to UB for answers in Lindbergh baby kidnapping

Needing to find clues in the ransom notes of the Lindbergh baby kidnappers brought NOVA investigators to UB's expert on handwriting.

SUNY Distinguished Professor Sargur Srihari of the UB Department of Computer Science and Engineering was interviewed on the PBS Nova program “Who Killed Lindbergh’s Baby?,” which aired in Buffalo on WNED-TV.  On the show, Srihari -- one of the world's experts on pattern recognition and its application to fingerprints and handwriting -- analyzes some of the ransom notes from the kidnappers. Srihari is founder and director of UB's Center of Excellence in Document Analysis and Recognition (CEDAR).
