Needing to find clues in the ransom notes of the Lindbergh baby
kidnappers brought NOVA
investigators to UB's expert
on handwriting.
SUNY Distinguished Professor Sargur Srihari of the UB Department
of Computer Science and Engineering was interviewed on the PBS
Nova program “Who Killed Lindbergh’s Baby?,”
which aired in Buffalo on WNED-TV. On the show, Srihari --
one of the world's experts on pattern recognition and its
application to fingerprints and handwriting -- analyzes some of the
ransom notes from the kidnappers. Srihari is founder and director
of UB's Center of Excellence in Document Analysis and Recognition
(CEDAR).
