An article in The Buffalo News and The Scientist reports on "Bat Cloud," an unusual array of hanging bat houses installed in Buffalo's Tifft Nature Preserve by Joyce Hwang, assistant professor of architecture, and designed to draw attention to one of nature's most maligned mammals. "Bats are very beneficial and helpful animals," said Hwang. "But we typically see them in things like horror movies, so they tend to have a bad rap."
