UPI: Researcher finds training respiratory muscles boosts underwater performance

Claes Lundgren, professor of physiology and biophysics, is quoted in an article distributed by United Press International that reports that swimmers and scuba divers can boost their endurance and breathing capacity by training their respiratory muscles. "Specific respiratory muscle training," he said, "could allow divers in the military, civilian rescue service, commercial enterprises and sport to perform better underwater." Go to article.
