BUFFALO, N.Y. – The University at Buffalo will celebrate Homecoming and Family Weekend Oct. 7-9, featuring a variety of events and activities, including the Homecoming football game against Mid-American Conference rival Kent State.

This year’s activities will have a decidedly retro feel, as UB celebrates its alumni from the 1960s with the “UB Groovin’ Reunion Celebration Party” to be held at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 7, in the Harriman Hall ballroom on the South Campus, featuring a cocktail reception, followed by dinner and dancing.

No homecoming would be complete without the traditional annual bonfire, pep rally and fireworks at 9 p.m. Friday on the shore of Lake LaSalle on the North Campus.

And then there’s Saturday’s football game. Numerous campus groups will host tailgaters in Stampede Square before the game, and a free tailgate concert beginning at 1:30 p.m. will feature ’70s and ’80s Top 40 rocker Eddie Money, before the Bulls take on the Kent State Golden Flashes at 3:30 p.m. in UB Stadium.
