“Everyone can’t walk into a dentist’s office and plop down $600 dollars. We want to let the public know that we’re providing this service and dispel any misconceptions about the cost of braces. ”
Paul Ziarnowski, DDS, interim chair of the UB Department of Orthodontics

BUFFALO, N.Y. – Braces just became a whole lot more affordable.

The University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine clinic recently lowered their price for orthodontic care, and will host an open house where guests can receive free screenings and learn if they or their children are candidates to receive braces.

The open house is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 17, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Squire Hall, 3435 Main St. on the UB South Campus.

Space is limited. To schedule an appointment, call 716-829-2845.

The UB Dental clinic is an affordable alternative for parents and students seeking orthodontic care. While the average cost of braces in the U.S. is around $5,000, the clinic provides treatment at a lower cost with a nominal down payment.

“Everyone can’t walk into a dentist’s office and plop down $600 dollars,” says Paul Ziarnowski, DDS, interim chair of the UB Department of Orthodontics. “We want to let the public know that we’re providing this service and dispel any misconceptions about the cost of braces.”

The clinic, which services up to 600 patients a year, is currently accepting new patients, adds Ziarnowski.
