Ray Poltorak

While at UB, Buffalo native Raymond Poltorak learned the importance of sound business planning supported by a clear understanding of intended markets. "My education and UB experience served as a sound foundation for my business career as a marketing professional," Poltorak said.

Over the course of his career he has helped grow a variety of products and services organizations domestically and internationally, in the Americas, Europe, the Middle East and Pacific, where his business acumen and people skills allowed him to navigate cultural intricacies. In addition to his business experience, Ray served as an adjunct professor of marketing and international marketing at the University of Houston-Downtown and LeTourneau University.

After leaving Buffalo, Ray and his family lived in a number of locales before settling in the Houston, Texas, area, where he now resides with his wife, Beverley, also a UB alum. He has been the volunteer chair of the Houston Chapter of the UB Alumni Association since 2003. Through his hard work and dedication, along with Beverley's, it has become one of the most successful UBAA chapters in its history. A number of professional networking and social events are held regularly, fostering a strong bond among alumni and to the university.
