National Grid Gift to Fund UB Programs Encouraging Buffalo Public School Students to Study Science and Engineering

WHO: National Grid CEO Steve Holliday will join University at Buffalo President John B. Simpson, Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown and UB Engineering Dean Harvey Stenger at a news conference to announce a gift to the UB School of Engineering and Applied Sciences.

WHAT: The National Grid gift will create and enhance UB programs that encourage Buffalo Public School students to pursue education and careers in science and engineering.

WHERE & WHEN: Tuesday, June 9, at 9:45 a.m. in the Jacobs Executive Development Center (formerly known as the Butler Mansion) located at 672 Delaware Ave, at the corner of North Street, in Buffalo.

Parking for media is available at the North Street entrance.

WHY: National Grid shares UB's commitment to increasing diversity in the science and engineering workforce, providing access to higher education for public school students and encouraging positive change in Western New York through job creation and creation of new technologies and scientific discoveries.
