BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Peter T. Ostrow, M.D., Ph.D., University at Buffalo associate professor of pathology and WIVB-TV's medical reporter, will provide tips on how to be an educated health-care consumer in a UB senior alumni luncheon at noon Wednesday, April 21.

It will be held in the Center for Tomorrow on the UB North (Amherst) Campus.

Ostrow's knack for explaining complex medical information and making it clear and concise has earned him kudos from students, viewers and media.

He joined Channel 4 nearly a decade ago as a featured on-air commentator on medical stories and interviewer of local medical experts.

A graduate of Downstate Medical Center, Ostrow was formerly on the faculty at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston.

The cost of the luncheon, designed for UB senior alumni, their spouses and guests, is $10 per person. For more information or reservations, call UB's Office of Alumni Relations at 716-829-2608.
