BUFFALO, NY -- A master's of science degree in accounting program will be offered by the University at Buffalo School of Management beginning this fall.

The one-year, 31-credit program is for recent graduates of a baccalaureate program in accounting who want to enhance their technical and professional skills through completion of an advanced degree in accounting.

Accredited by the American Association of Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), the program is designed to enhance students' technical training and critical-thinking skills while building expertise in five specific business areas -- financial services, health services, international business, manufacturing and operations management, or management information systems.

Completion of the program will satisfy the 150-hour educational requirement for Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification, which has been adopted by 36 states and U.S. territories that license CPAs. New York State is scheduled to adopt the 150-hour standard by 2000.

For more information about the program, call the UB School of Management at 645-3204.
