Tcie At UB Announces Three New Appointments

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- The Center for Industrial Effectiveness (TCIE) at the University at Buffalo has announced three staff changes.

The center has hired Timothy R. Mattulke as project manager for the Strategic Partnership for Industrial Resurgence (SPIR) program, Suzanne R. Benner as financial administrator and Janet McIntosh as training assistant.

As SPIR project manager, Mattulke will provide relationship and project management support for the SPIR program. He holds a bachelor's degree in biology and a master's degree in environmental science, both from UB. He also has a background in engineering consulting and most recently worked as project manager at Hatch Consultants in Baltimore. Mattulke resides in Williamsville.

The SPIR program was established by the State University of New York (SUNY) in 1994 to assist small and medium-sized manufacturing companies in adding research and development support and technological depth to their companies through the SUNY engineering schools.

Benner, a resident of Buffalo, will provide general accounting and financial administration to the center. A graduate of Erie Community College, she has more than 15 years of accounting and operational experience. Most recently a junior accountant with Child and Family Services, she is pursuing a bachelor's degree in accounting at UB.

McIntosh will assist in coordination of state training grant administration and company-funded training activities. She holds a bachelor's degree from Fredonia State College and a master's degree from Indiana University at Bloomington. A resident of Tonawanda, McIntosh has held a variety of administrative and management roles in industry.

Based in the UB School of Engineering and Applied Sciences and affiliated with the UB School of Management, TCIE promotes economic growth in Western New York by helping local companies become more competitive. TCIE's mission is to motivate and help industry to develop people, utilize technology, improve business practices and modernize products, processes and facilities.
