EOC Graduates At UB to Be Honored At Achievement Day

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Lourdes T. Iglesias, program manager of

Hispanics United of Buffalo and an alumnus of the Educational Opportunity

Center (EOC) at the University at Buffalo, will be the keynote speaker at EOC's

24th annual Achievement Day program, to begin at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 28,

in the Center for the Arts on the UB North (Amherst) Campus.

Some 450

EOC students who have completed one of the center's 10 academic-preparation

and/or vocational programs will be honored at the event, the theme of which is

"Believe, Achieve, Succeed."

The Rev. William Gillison, pastor of Mt.

Olive Baptist Church, will receive the Friend of EOC Community Sponsored Award.
