BUFFALO, N.Y. -- The Department of Theatre and Dance at the
University at Buffalo will present the Emerging Choreographers
Showcase on Nov. 30 and Dec. 1 at 7:30 p.m. and Dec. 1 and 2 at 2
p.m. The performances will be in the Black Box Theatre in the
Center for the Arts, North Campus.
The Emerging Choreographers Showcase is a dance concert of new
works by invited, advanced-level UB student choreographers. The
concert, directed by Associate Professor Melanie Aceto, features 10
new works by choreographers Dana Bojarski, Chelsea Crane, Melissa
Hunt, Alyssa Infranco, Kate Kenyon, Ashley Peters, Julie Spendal,
Marlee Sroka and Jessica Waltz. The works explore themes that
include the heightening of senses, limitations of space as well as
the expansion of space above the audience, and the social issues of
human trafficking and women in the workforce.
Tickets for Emerging Choreographers Showcase are $20 general
admission and $10 for students. Tickets are available at the Center
