BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Three University at Buffalo professors have received a $368,000 grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF) to research technology that could revolutionize product engineering by allowing designers to better measure consumer perceptions and customize products accordingly.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — D. Jeffery Higginbotham, PhD, of Buffalo, professor and chair of the Department of Communicative Disorders and Sciences in the University at Buffalo College of Arts and Sciences, will be named a fellow of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) at the association’s 2014 annual convention being held Nov. 20-22 in Orlando, Florida.

The human triumphs of the University at Buffalo Educational Opportunity Center will be displayed through the spoken word during a staged reading of works by adult learners beginning at 5:30 p.m. Aug. 14 in the 710 Main Theatre in downtown Buffalo.

Karl D. Fiebelkorn, MBA, associate professor of pharmacy practice in the University at Buffalo School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, is the recipient of the 2014 Bowl of Hygeia Award for outstanding community service.

BUFFALO, N.Y. – Nitesh D. Kuhadiya, MD, assistant professor in the University at Buffalo Department of Medicine, has won an award for his abstract “Liraglutide as Additional Treatment to Insulin in Patients with Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus: A Randomized Clinical Trial.”

Arabella Lyon, PhD, professor of English and director of the Center for Excellence in Writing at the University at Buffalo, has received the 2014 Book Award from the Rhetoric Society of America (RSA) for the best work in rhetorical study published in 2013.
