BUFFALO, N.Y. – The federal proposal to lower the DWI blood-alcohol limit would make the standard similar to European nations and Australia, and could save lives, says a University at Buffalo School of Social Work research professor who has studied the effects of impaired driving for more than 25 years.

BUFFALO, N.Y. – A small University at Buffalo study has found for the first time that in Type 1 diabetics, insulin injections exert a strong anti-inflammatory effect at the cellular and molecular level, while even small amounts of glucose result in “profound inflammation.”

BUFFALO, N.Y. – Most consumers who are shopping for a new car depend on good crash safety ratings as an indicator of how well the car will perform in a crash.  But a new University at Buffalo study of crashes involving cars and sport utility vehicles (SUVs) has found those crash ratings are a lot less relevant than vehicle type.

BUFFALO, N.Y. – Sixty-two percent of Americans now say they believe that global warming is happening, but 46 percent say they are “very sure” or “extremely sure” that it is not. Only 49 percent know why it is occurring, and about as many say they’re not worried about it, according to the April report of the Yale Project on Climate Change Communication.
