Center for the Arts Artists in Residence Working on Extreme Makeover: Home Edition Project in Buffalo 11/11/09 Colleen Darby, an artist in residence in the University at Buffalo Center for the Arts' Arts in Healthcare Program in Women and Children's Hospital of Buffalo, has been selected to create a mural for ABC Television's "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" project currently underway at 228 Massachusetts Ave. in Buffalo.

The Irish Tenors -- Finbar Wright, Anthony Kearns and Karl Scully -- to Perform Holiday Concert at UB 11/10/09 The Center for the Arts at the University at Buffalo will present The Irish Tenors -- Holiday Concert on Dec. 11 at 8 p.m. in the Mainstage Theatre in the Center for the Arts on the UB North Campus. Singer/songwriter Mark Knopfler to Perform in CFA 09/24/09 Mark Knopfler, a multiple Grammy Award winner as the lead singer/songwriter for Dire Straits, will perform at 7:30 p.m. April 28 in the University at Buffalo Center for the Arts on the UB North (Amherst) Campus.
Center for the Arts Receives Fifth Telly Award for 2009 07/30/09 The Center for the Arts at the University at Buffalo has been selected to receive a bronze Telly Award for the television program Building UB, Growing Community: The Draft Plan (Information Programming), which was produced for the Office of the President.
Cosmetic Surgery Appeals to Men, Women with Appearance-based Rejection Sensitivity View Photo 07/01/09 Researchers have found that men and women who feel sensitive to rejection based on their physical appearance are more likely to express interest in having cosmetic surgery than those who are less sensitive to appearance-based rejection. This effect is particularly true when people recall negative comments about their physical appearance.
Oishei Foundation Grant Supports New Arts in Healthcare Program 12/14/07 The Center for the Arts at the University at Buffalo has been awarded a $287,182 grant by the John R. Oishei Foundation to establish a program that will bring the performing arts and artists into health-care settings to enhance the healing environment for patients and caregivers in Western New York.
