Shambhu Upadhyaya, PhD, is director of UB’s Center of
Excellence in Information Systems Assurance Research and Education
(CEISARE). His research focuses on protecting the United
States’ infrastructure from cyber threats. That includes
electric power grids, transportation systems, financial networks,
military assets and water supplies. Upadhyaya has conducted
research sponsored by the Air Force Research Laboratory, DARPA,
Intel Corp., the National Science Foundation, the Department of
Defense and other organizations.
