Expertise:<ul> <li>Environmental law and administrative regulation <li>Reaserch currently focuses on regional performance indicators for the environment, economy and government services for Western New York <li>Working on an environmental legal history of Western New York</ul> He is co-director of the award-winning State of the Region project sponsored by UB's Institute for Local Governance and Regional Growth. Boyer has taught courses on natural resources, the Great Lakes, law and epidemiology, and law and nature. Also can discuss water pollution and issues pertaining to legal education. Boyer has served as chair of the Erie County (N.Y.) Environmental Management Council, and as a member of several New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) committees, including the Water Management Advisory Council and panels to develop remedial action plans for the Buffalo and Niagara rivers. He is the author of "No Place to Hide? Great Lakes Pollution and Your Health."
