• Presidential-Congressional relations, campaign finance reform and political participation

Books include "The American Campaign: U.S. Presidential Campaigns and the National Vote" and "Before the Vote: Forecasting American National Elections." Has authored four books, 14 book chapters and more than 40 journal articles. Has served on editorial boards of American Journal of Political Science, Journal of Politics, Political Research Quarterly, Legislative Studies Quarterly and American Politics Research.

Previously served as a program director for the political science program at the National Science Foundation and was an American Political Science Association Congressional Fellow..

Currently serves as president-elect of Pi Sigma Alpha, the national honor society of political science.
