Project director of the Howard Hughes Undergraduate Biological Sciences Educational Initiative, a $1.5 million grant the University at Buffalo received in 1994 from the Howard Hughes Medical Institute to improve undergraduate education in the life sciences. Work is funded by the National Institutes of Health. An elected member of the steering committee for the UB Center for Advanced Molecular Biology and Immunology.
