News Release New York Times: Research links children's television viewing habits, obesityRelease Date: March 4, 2008 Research by Leonard Epstein, professor of pediatrics and social and preventive medicine, that showed that limiting the time that young children spend with television and computers reduces their risk of becoming obese is featured prominently in the news. The research was covered by news services that include Bloomberg News, Reuters and HealthDay, and appeared in major metropolitan newspapers that include The New York Times, The Washington Post and the Chicago Tribune. His research also received considerable international coverage. In addition, news crews from CBS News and National Public Radio were on campus March 4 to interview Epstein about his work. |
