AREAS OF EXPERTISE:

Law and policy on sex, sexuality, gender, gender identity, and sexual orientation; reproductive rights; constitutional, criminal, and family law; LGBTQ history

Michael Boucai can speak to reporters and others about the law, politics, and history of gender and sexuality in the United States, as well as certain topics in constitutional, criminal, and family law.

Boucai’s research has explored a range of subjects in those areas, including assisted reproductive technologies, same-sex marriage, bisexuality, the gay closet, and the history of American marriage and family.

He teaches courses at the UB Law School relating to gender and sexuality, family law, criminal law, and reproductive rights and justice.
