Jennifer Egan has offered to host live Zoom Author Talks for NeMLA members teaching her work in Spring or Fall 2021. To learn more about this opportunity, contact us at support@nemla.org.

The book cover to Jennifer Egan's novel "Manhattan Beach" shows the letters of the book's title and the author's name connected, as if the letters from "Manhattan Beach" bleed down to form the letters of "Jennifer Egan." The title and author's name are in one circle of light against a dark backdrop.

Jennifer is an American novelist, journalist, and short story writer. Egan's most recent novel, Manhattan Beach, a New York Times bestseller is our "NeMLA Reads Together" 2021 selection, and was awarded the 2018 Andrew Carnegie Medal for Excellence in Fiction. Her novel A Visit from the Goon Squad won the 2011 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction, the National Book Critics Circle Award for fiction, the Los Angeles Times book prize, and was recently named one of the best books of the decade by Time MagazineEntertainment Weekly, and several others. As a journalist, she has written for the New York Times Magazine—most recently about pregnancy and childbirth among opioid-dependent women. She is President of PEN America.
