Search Announcement

Dear UB Friends and Colleagues,
The search for the new dean of the School of Management is now well under way and continues to make progress. With the assistance of our search committee members, faculty, staff and university administration, a comprehensive position profile has been completed and the position has been broadly advertised. Aided by our search consultant, Dr. Ilene Nagel of Russell Reynolds Associates, the committee is working diligently to identify a pool of candidates who will offer intellectual, institutional and professional leadership; will inspire and lead an accomplished faculty toward further excellence; promote innovative and inter-disciplinary management scholarship; effectively communicate the mission and aspirational goals of the school, including the commitment to expand the school’s resources and its global perspective; contribute to UB’s strategic planning process – UB 2020; and exemplify commitment to diversity.
Review of candidate recruitment materials will commence in March, followed by the completion of confidential off-campus interviews. On-campus interviews for finalists are anticipated to take place by the end of the spring semester; at that time, members of the university and local business communities will be invited to participate in meetings with the candidates.
The search committee encourages nominations from the UB community for the School of Management dean’s position and requests that all nominations be sent by email to ubmgt-dean@RussellReynolds.com. The search firm will contact all nominees with further information about the position and extend an invitation for candidates to submit their CVs for formal consideration by the committee. In order to attract and retain the most qualified candidate pool, the search committee has agreed to a policy of strict confidentiality.
