A story on WIVB-TV reports Enrique Morales, an Ecuador native and a UB student studying earthquake engineering, will travel to his home country to evaluate structural damages after an earthquake hit there Saturday.

The quake reportedly killed at least 400 people and injured more than 2,500. “At this moment it is my first idea, it is my responsibility. I believe that I can help Ecuador at this moment that they need at least technical support. The idea is to coordinate with one university in Ecuador that has an agreement with UB,” he said.
