Dear University Community:

On behalf of the search committee for UB’s next dean of the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, thank you for interest in this leadership search.

Following the file review process and confidential off-site interviews, the search committee has invited four outstanding candidates to participate in more extensive on-campus visits. The finalists will visit campus the week of October 1. The candidates will have the opportunity to meet with many of UB’s faculty, staff, students, and volunteers.  Candidate names, vitae, and schedules for the public forums are available at the Engineering Dean search website at this link

Public forums with the finalists are scheduled on October 1, October 2, October 3 and October 4, all taking place at 3:30 p.m. The October 1 public forum will be in 145A Student Union on the North Campus. The remaining public forums will be in 120 Clemens Hall on the North Campus. We strongly encourage you to attend these sessions to learn more about the finalists and to engage in conversation with them about the future of UB. Your participation is also a signal to these accomplished candidates that the UB community is genuinely invested in the search for its academic leadership.

Search committee seeks campus input by October 7

Following the October 4 candidate visit, the search committee will move quickly to prepare a summary report on the finalists for President Tripathi and Provost Zukoski, who will make the final decision on the appointment of the next dean of the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences. The search committee invites your feedback about the finalists for the dean position. Please direct any input by email to Your input will be treated confidentially; your name will not be associated with your specific comments when reviewed by the committee.
